British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”
