Detonations and Low-Altitude Aircraft Heard in Venezuela's Capital City Caracas

Witness testimonies surfaced of multiple detonations and the noise of low-altitude planes in the Venezuelan capital in the pre-dawn hours of Saturday. This incident has prompted allegations from the Venezuelan government and calls for diplomatic action.

Venezuela Accuses US of Attack

The socialist regime has accused the Washington of an act of "imperial aggression," claiming that ex- President Donald Trump reportedly ordered strikes against the South American country. In an formal statement, the authorities stated that strikes had impacted the capital and several other states: Miranda, La Guaira, and Aragua.

"Our sole aim of these strikes is to seize control of Venezuela's natural resources, notably its crude oil and minerals," Venezuela asserted.

Caracas urged the international community to censure the operations, which it termed a "clear infringement of global law" that put numerous of civilians in danger.

Accounts of Explosions and Defense Bases Hit

The alleged attacks are preceded by a months-long military buildup by the Trump administration against the Maduro regime. Since August, there has been a major naval buildup off the country's northern coast and a number of airstrikes on boats suspected of narco-trafficking.

Venezuela's administration has stated "the implementation of emergency" and commanded all national defence protocols to be activated. It has also urged its supporters to protest and "denounce this foreign act."
