Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the last two tournaments of the year due to the illness that has affected her for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to recover before starting next year's training.

Those preparations will include coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating for the upcoming season.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match with Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the third set against Zhu because of a lower back issue that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 for the first time in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

She secured 28 matches this year and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.

The British number one made the last eight of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route then falling in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled in the coming months.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
