Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the US has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported debris fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
