A female indicted with pursuing Kate McCann allegedly deposited her a recorded message which posed: "suppose I am Madeleine?"
The defendant, 24, who court testimony revealed has consistently claimed she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are on trial indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February this year.
On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned communication data and evidence obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout the past two years.
Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a vacation in Portugal - is considered the most widely reported child disappearance cases and remains unresolved.
One phone message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine was, but I know what I feel."
While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "What if there is a small chance that I'm her? What then? Isn't that significant for you?"
"I am not seeking money, I have a existence here in Poland, I only wish to know," she added.
The jury was informed that via emails, mobile messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a DNA test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.
An intelligence analyst, an investigator with the police force who compiled the information, told the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with family friends of the McCanns, based on the phone records.
On October 9th, 2024, the father picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "the wrong phone."
During that incident Ms Wandelt recorded a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I will persist and I will prove my position."
The court heard Mrs Spragg struck up a connection through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in that area in that winter.
Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had communicated via messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the press had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she deserved to be treated respectfully in the time leading up to the visit to that location, the county, in that winter.
The court was told communications between the two defendants, in last November, planning attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's genetic material from her garbage or from utensils at a dining venue.
"We have to assert ourselves," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.
On the occasion of the visit to their residence, the defendant dispatched a message which said: "We're currently sitting near the McCanns' residence with our lights out like detectives. I had hoped to achieve this with Peter Andrew I hadn't anticipated I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."
The case proceeds.
