The rising star has substantial online following
Kai Trump can count on numerous high-profile backers when she begins her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is connected to Donald Trump, obtained a sponsor's invitation to play at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, operates numerous international courses and often matches against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we play tight competitions," she revealed.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who won't be present, told her: "Simply stay calm."
"My grandpa basically advised me to go out there and have fun," she continued.
"To me, he's just a regular grandfather. He won't be there this weekend. He's occupied with world affairs, so he's rather occupied."
While still amateur, Kai has participated in just three tournaments recently and holds the 461st position in AJGA standings.
But she's able to receive tips from golf legend, who is dating Vanessa.
"He stands as the top athlete globally," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's a more impressive person. He suggested me to play, have fun, and go with whatever happens."
She'll challenge several top competitors in women's golf at the competition, featuring world number two Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers mentioned that involving Kai exposes golf to new audiences, specifically with younger fans.
The young star boasts a massive following and just introduced her own clothing and lifestyle label.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
